Schedule Details

Day 1: Arrival in Salt Lake City – City Highlights & Great Salt Lake (Seasonal Bonus)

Upon arrival in Salt Lake City, your professional guide will meet you at Salt Lake City International Airport or your selected Salt Lake City hotel. Today's program will be arranged according to your arrival time, weather, and winter road conditions.

Program Options (Subject to weather, winter road conditions, and arrival time)

Option A: Arrivals after 12:00 PM or when winter road conditions are unfavorable:
You will be transferred directly to the hotel in West Yellowstone or suitable en-route lodging for rest and overnight stay. This arrangement allows more time for safe winter driving before the Yellowstone snow coach experience on Day 2.

Option B: Arrivals before 12:00 PM or tours starting from Salt Lake City at 9:00–9:30 AM:
You may enjoy a complimentary Salt Lake City highlights tour, subject to weather, timing, and accessibility.

During the Salt Lake City half-day tour, you will visit several of the city’s notable landmarks.

Possible visits include:

  • Temple Square
  • Utah State Capitol, subject to accessibility
  • Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island, featuring the iconic winter “Mirror of the Sky” landscape, a favorite among photographers

Temple Square is often seen as the capital of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also known as the Mormons.

Modeled after the US Capitol Building in Washington DC, the Utah State Capitol Building is both stunning and beautiful. This building serves as the seat of government for the state of Utah.

The Great Salt Lake is a large body of saltwater often compared with the Dead Sea. On a still day, the sky reflects off of the lake, offering a stark contrast with the desert mountains of Utah.

Optional Add-On (Additional Cost)

If time and weather allow, you may choose to visit a natural lava-tube volcanic hot spring at additional cost. Availability depends on routing, traffic, winter conditions, and your preference.

In the evening, continue to West Yellowstone or nearby en-route lodging for overnight rest.

Meals: Not included

Accommodation: West Yellowstone or en-route lodging (based on conditions)

Day 2: Exploration of Yellowstone National Park with Snow Coach Adventure

After breakfast, your guide will escort you to the Yellowstone winter entrance for a full-day snow coach exploration. Travel comfortably aboard a heated snow coach, operated by professional winter guides who are familiar with Yellowstone’s seasonal routes, viewpoints, wildlife corridors, and safety requirements.

Yellowstone is especially magical in winter, when steaming geysers rise through the cold air, snow blankets the forests and meadows, and wildlife can often be seen moving through the park’s quiet winter landscapes.

Highlights include:

  • Snow coach journey through Yellowstone’s winter landscapes
  • Possible stops at Madison Junction, Fountain Paint Pots, Black Sand Basin, and wildlife viewing areas (conditions permitting)
  • Arrival at Old Faithful Snow Lodge
  • Viewing the Old Faithful geyser eruption, based on predicted eruption times
  • Pre-arranged boxed lunch, allowing more sightseeing time

Boxed Lunch Options (must be selected at least 24 hours in advance):

A pre-arranged boxed lunch is included to allow more time for sightseeing inside the park.

Each boxed lunch typically includes a sandwich, with a choice of ham, turkey, or vegetarian, along with cheese, fresh fruit, chips, a cookie, and bottled water.

Complimentary seasonal activities:

When conditions permit, you may enjoy a light snowshoeing experience around the Old Faithful area.

West Yellowstone is a small town immediately west of Yellowstone National Park. After returning to West Yellowstone, you may enjoy dinner at your own expense and explore the town’s local shops.

Finally, we’ll drop you off at your hotel, giving you time to rest and prepare before the next day’s journey.

Meals: Breakfast and boxed lunch included (Check in Villa/Chalet without breakfast)

Accommodation: West Yellowstone

Day 3: West Yellowstone – Lava Hot Springs or Alternative Winter Experiences – Return to Salt Lake City

After hotel pickup, today’s program will be customized based on your preferences, weather, road conditions, and the final return schedule to Salt Lake City.

Option 1: Lava Hot Springs

This is the recommended winter relaxation option when routing and weather conditions are suitable.

Travel to Lava Hot Springs, a well-known geothermal resort area famous for its natural mineral pools. You can relax in warm, mineral-rich waters, generally ranging from approximately 102°F to 112°F. The experience offers a soothing way to unwind after your Yellowstone winter adventure.

Lunch may be arranged near the Lava Hot Springs resort area at your own expense.

If this option is selected, the natural hot spring admission fee is included unless otherwise stated in the final quotation.

Option 2: Alternative Winter Experiences

If you prefer not to visit Lava Hot Springs, or if weather and road conditions require a different route, your guide may arrange alternative winter experiences.

Possible options may include:

  • Jackson Hole, Wyoming
A charming Western town known for its cowboy heritage, art galleries, winter scenery, and mountain-town atmosphere.
  • Grand Teton National Park Winter Wildlife Corridor
Depending on conditions, youmay have opportunities to view winter landscapes and wildlife such as moose, bison, elk, coyotes, mule deer, bighorn sheep, and other regional wildlife.
  • Hill Aerospace Museum
Located near Salt Lake City, this museum features historic aircraft, aviation exhibits, and military aviation history. It may be used as an alternative stop when weather conditions make mountain-area routing less suitable.

In the late afternoon or evening, return to Salt Lake City. Drop-off will be arranged at Salt Lake City International Airport or your selected Salt Lake City hotel.
