Located in the northwest corner of Wyoming in the Midwestern United States, extending northwest into Idaho and Montana. It is an astounding 8,956 square kilometers and is the world's first national park. Yellowstone Park is one of the largest active volcanoes in the world.
Grand Teton National Park is in the glacier mountainous area of northwestern Wyoming, USA. It was built in 1929 and covers an area of 310,000 acres. It currently holds the title of "the most beautiful national park". Grand Teton National Park is in the Rocky Mountains. Grand Teton National Park is home to magnificent mountain scenery, sparkling mountain lakes and wildlife. The snowy Teton Mountains stand majestically, and we will stay at the best photo spots, so you can savor the beauty of the Teton Mountains and Jackson Lake.
Your adventure will begin around 9 AM when your tour guide picks you up either from the Salt Lake City Airport or from a hotel of your choosing. If you’d like to start your tour from an area other than Salt Lake City, please let us know and we’ll make arrangements.
If you arrive before 12 PM, you will have the opportunity to choose between a half-day tour in Salt Lake City or a half-day trip to Volcano Hot Springs.
If you choose the Salt Lake City half-day trip, you will be taken to see various sites in Salt Lake City, including Temple Square, Antelope Island, the State Capitol Building, and the Hill Aerospace Museum.
Temple Square is often considered the heart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also known as the Mormons. This historic area contains the world-famous Salt Lake City Temple, Tabernacle, and Beehive House – all significant landmarks that must be visited!
Inspired by the US Capitol Building in Washington DC, the Utah State Capitol Building is both stunning and beautiful. This building serves as the seat of government for all of Utah, housing the chambers and offices of the Utah State Legislature, the Governor's office, and the Attorney General's office.
After exploring these Salt Lake City sights, you will either be dropped off at a hotel in Salt Lake City or driven to nearby Volcano Hot Springs for your hotel drop-off.
If you opt for the Volcano Hot Springs half-day trip, your tour guide will take you directly from Salt Lake City to the Volcano Hot Springs area. These world-famous hot springs provide warm water from deep beneath the Earth's surface. The minerals in these waters offer health benefits and nourish your skin as you soak. For an additional fee, you can enjoy one of two types of hot springs. The first type is an all-natural hot spring, with waters continuously flowing into an adjoining river, providing clean, odorless water. The other type is a thermal cave with warm, crystal-clear water that maintains a constant, comfortable temperature. Regardless of your choice, you'll feel relaxed and rejuvenated after your soak.
Depending on your airplane's arrival time and chosen itinerary, you will either be dropped off at a hotel in Salt Lake City or at Volcano Hot Springs. You will then have the rest of the evening to rest and relax before the next day's adventures!
Accommodation options: Holiday Inn Express & Suites, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Hot Spring Resort, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Tru by Hilton, Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Antelope Island. This island is situated in the midst of the Great Salt Lake, a large body of saltwater often compared to the Dead Sea. On a calm day, the sky reflects off the lake, providing a stark contrast with the desert mountains of Utah.
Following your visit to Antelope Island, you'll be driven three hours north to the town of Idaho Falls. This town is renowned for its large man-made waterfall that stretches across the length of the city. The pristine and sparkling waters offer a perfect backdrop for personal or family photos! You'll also have some time to enjoy a quick lunch in the area before moving on to the next destination.
Next, we'll travel to West Yellowstone, a small town immediately west of Yellowstone National Park. En route, we'll cross over the continental divide, the boundary between two major river systems. One of these river systems flows into the Pacific Ocean, while the other flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Upon arriving in West Yellowstone, you'll have the chance to take a leisurely stroll, absorb the local sights, and explore the various gift shops.
At this point, you'll have the opportunity to choose your next activity. You can either head to Big Sky, Montana, or embark on a self-paid snowmobile trip in West Yellowstone.
Big Sky is renowned for its vast, clear skies and sweeping white snow slopes. When the sun sets, this region becomes the perfect place for stargazing, free from the glare of bright city lights.
Snowmobiling is by far the most convenient way to travel in this snow-covered tundra! Beyond its efficiency, it's also incredibly enjoyable. You'll relish the thrill of speeding through the snow-covered trees, accessing areas impossible to reach on foot or by vehicle. For $225 per person, you'll receive all the essentials for exploring West Yellowstone: a snowmobile, appropriate clothing, insurance, and gas.
Finally, we'll return to West Yellowstone and drop you off at your hotel, allowing you time to rest and prepare for the next day's journey.
Accommodation options: Yellowstone Lodge, Gray Wolf Inn, Three Bear Lodge, Stagecoach Inn, Brandin' Iron Inn, 320 Guest Ranch, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Mammoth Hot Springs in Northern Yellowstone. To reach there, we'll drive along the Yellowstone River Corridor to the west of Yellowstone. Along the way, you'll have numerous opportunities to capture pictures of the landscape and local animals, such as bald eagles, golden eagles, bison, pronghorn antelope, elk, white-tailed deer, and even coyotes!
After a quick lunch in Gardner, you'll continue onward towards Mammoth Hot Springs. Due to winter-related closures of certain areas of Yellowstone to vehicle traffic, your tour guide will guide you the rest of the way using snowshoes, creating a truly unique experience. Compared to other hot springs in the park, Mammoth Hot Springs is massive, showcasing its white chalky terraces, colorful pools, hissing steam vents, and cascading water.
Following your visit to Mammoth Hot Springs, you'll return to West Yellowstone for a warm dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area. We'd suggest enjoying a hearty rack of ribs or some succulent brisket at a local BBQ restaurant. Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel, allowing you to rest before the next day's adventures!
Accommodation options: Yellowstone Lodge, 320 Guest Ranch, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to witness Yellowstone's most famous landmark, Old Faithful! While not the tallest geyser in the park, Old Faithful erupts with remarkable regularity, offering an incredible display of the Earth’s power. To reach the geyser, you'll ride in one of Yellowstone’s comfortable snow-coaches. These snow-coaches provide the perfect vantage point to admire the beautiful winter scenery of Yellowstone, passing by picture-perfect vistas, snow-covered trees, and steaming hot springs.
During the journey, the snow-coach will make a stop at Fountain Paint Pots, a unique thermal feature that is sure to captivate you. These 'pots' are filled with viscous mud that seems to boil, sending large bubbles to the surface, spewing mud all around. The area surrounding Fountain Paint Pots is also home to many smaller hot springs that emit steam high into the air.
Upon reaching Old Faithful Lodge, you'll either proceed to watch the geyser erupt or enjoy lunch indoors, depending on the predicted eruption time. This is the perfect opportunity to relax and bask in the warmth of the lodge, or to explore the outdoors and observe nature.
Depending on your preferences, you'll also have the chance to ride a snowmobile or go snowshoeing in the vicinity of Old Faithful Lodge. Exploring this winter wonderland will allow you to truly appreciate the beauty of Yellowstone!
As the day draws to a close, your tour guide will lead you back to West Yellowstone for dinner and shopping. Following dinner, you'll be transported back to your hotel to rest and unwind before the next day's adventure.
Accommodation options: Yellowstone Lodge, 320 Guest Ranch, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and take you directly to the Hot Spring Resort. Alternatively, at your own expense, you can choose between two options:
Upon returning, you'll enjoy a quick lunch in West Yellowstone before departing for Volcano Hot Springs. These world-famous hot springs provide warm water from deep below the Earth’s surface. The minerals in the water offer health benefits and nourish your skin as you soak. For an additional fee, you can choose to soak in one of two types of hot springs. The first type is an all-natural hot spring, with waters continuously flowing into an adjoining river, providing clean, fresh water without a sulfur smell. The other type is a thermal cave with warm, crystal-clear water that maintains a constant, comfortable temperature. Regardless of your choice, you'll feel relaxed and refreshed after your soak!
Depending on time constraints, your tour guide will either take you to a local hotel in Volcano Hot Springs or a hotel in Provo, Utah. Before dropping you off to relax, you'll have the opportunity to dine at a local restaurant of your choice.
Accommodation options: Holiday Inn Express & Suites, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Hot Spring Resort, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and take you to Dead Horse Point State Park. Located just a few miles from Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park offers a unique view of the Colorado River, 2,000 feet below. While driving, your tour guide will share the intriguing story behind the park's name.
Next, we will drive over to the adjacent Canyonlands National Park. This park comprises three distinct regions: The Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. Today, our focus will be on touring the Island in the Sky region, situated high above the Colorado River on the Colorado Plateau. From this vantage point, we will peer deep into the virtually untouched canyons below, providing us with a glimpse into life thousands of years ago.
Following our visit to Canyonlands National Park, we'll head to Arches National Park. With over 2,000 arches, it boasts the densest concentration of natural sandstone arches in the world! A short hike will lead us to many world-famous arches, including Landscape Arch, Delicate Arch, and Double Arch. Without a doubt, this is one national park you won't want to miss.
Afterward, your tour guide will take you to Moab, Utah, for dinner and to explore the town. Positioned between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Moab serves as the gateway to many of Utah’s most spectacular natural landscapes. This vibrant town offers a range of activities including river rafting, hiking, rock climbing, helicopter tours, horseback riding, and even skydiving! You'll find your stay here to be just as enjoyable as the parks themselves. Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel so you can rest and recharge before the next exciting day!
Accommodation options: Best Western, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Archway Inn, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and take you to Monument Valley. Comprised of vast buttes that tower over 1,000 feet in the sky, Monument Valley is the perfect place to stretch your legs after the long car ride and capture some stunning photographs. These buttes have even made appearances in numerous movies, with one of the most famous being the running scene in Forrest Gump. Around this time, you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy a quick lunch and rest up.
If time allows, your tour guide will also take you to see Four Corners National Monument. This unique monument is the only place in America where four states converge: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. As this park is located within the Navajo Nation, it's also an excellent opportunity to purchase locally made Native American jewelry and other souvenirs to bring back home. At day's end, your tour guide will drive you back to the Monument Valley area, where you can check into your hotel and unwind.
Accommodation options: Goulding’s Lodge, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Lake Powell Resorts Page, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and take you to Horseshoe Bend. With the assistance of a knowledgeable Navajo guide, you'll have the opportunity to explore this incredible region renowned for its picture-perfect landscapes. In fact, this section of Antelope Canyon ranks among the top ten photography locations in the world!
Following the hike, you'll head to Page, Arizona, for a quick bite to eat at a local eatery. From there, your guide will drive you towards Kanab, Utah, passing by the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon Dam along the way. A brief stop will allow you to visit Moqui Cave, a cave-turned-museum that houses numerous intriguing artifacts.
While in Kanab, you'll get the chance to explore amazing destinations such as Lake Powell, Rainbow Bridge, Horseshoe Bend, and Reflection Canyon from the sky! This one-hour trip in a Cessna airplane is included in the tour and is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The last stop on today’s itinerary is Bryce Canyon National Park. With its stunning pink and white cliffs and thousands of hoodoos, Bryce Canyon National Park is bound to leave an indelible impression on you. The park boasts numerous easily accessible viewpoints that offer excellent locations for photography. For the more adventurous, your tour guide will lead you down into the canyon along the Navajo-Queen’s Garden Trail, passing right next to incredible rock formations that have taken thousands of years to shape.
At day's end, your guide will take you to the nearby town of Bryce Canyon for dinner. Afterward, you'll be dropped off at your hotel, providing you with the opportunity to rest and prepare for the journey ahead.
Accommodation options: Best Western Plus Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel, Bryce Canyon Lodge, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and take you to Zion National Park – one of the most breathtaking National Parks in all of Utah. As you journey through stunning wind-sculpted canyons and hike along incredible trails, Zion National Park is sure to leave you in awe. With offerings for every preference, the park boasts intricate patterns on Checkerboard Mesa and the tranquility of Weeping Rock for those who prefer to stay in the car. For those eager to hike, the Canyon Overlook Trail and the Riverside Walk provide stunning vistas, while experienced hikers can relish the challenges of the Narrows and Angel’s Landing.
Around lunchtime, we'll enjoy a meal at a nearby restaurant or indulge in a packed lunch. Following this, your tour guide will confirm departure times and begin the journey to your chosen airport (Las Vegas, St. George, or Salt Lake City).
If you're departing from St. George or Las Vegas, your guide will accompany you to your destination within the St. George area. Both airports offer daily flights to major airports across the US.
If Salt Lake City is your departure point, your guide will lead you north along the Wasatch Fault line, arriving in Salt Lake City around 6 PM. Winter in Yellowstone is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Since a good amount of roads will be closed, we will take you in a snowcoach to explore the national park. With less tourists around, you will be able to have a real close connection with nature. If you enjoy photography, the contrast between the basins and geysers from the fresh white snow allows for the vibrant reds and greens to stand out even more. Animals will also become more open in the search for food and will be easier to see against the snowy landscape.
