In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the town of Idaho Falls. This town is renowned for its large man-made waterfall that spans the length of the city. The pristine and sparkling waters provide the perfect backdrop for personal or family photos!
Next stop: Grand Teton National Park. During the winter months, Grand Teton National Park comes to life as the destination of thousands of migrating animals escaping the cold north. As such, this is the best location to witness wildlife such as moose, wolves, coyotes, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and bison! You'll embark on a sleigh ride that will take you straight through a herd of wild elk, estimated to number over 5,000 strong! These elk will create a mesmerizing sea of fur and snow, a sight that must be seen to be believed. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture this breathtaking experience!
Next, we'll journey to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a charming Western town known for its artistry and cowboy culture. We'll spend some time here enjoying lunch and, if you're interested, engaging in shopping. This is an excellent place to purchase souvenirs!
Next, we'll travel to West Yellowstone, a small town immediately west of Yellowstone National Park. Along the way, we'll cross over the continental divide, which serves as the boundary between two major river systems. One of these river systems flows into the Pacific Ocean, while the other flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Upon arriving in West Yellowstone, you'll have the chance to explore the local sights, take in the scenery, and shop at the various gift shops.
At this point, you'll have the opportunity to choose your next activity. You can either visit Big Sky, Montana, known for its vast, clear skies and sweeping white snow slopes. When the sun sets, this region becomes a perfect spot for stargazing, free from the bright lights of the city.
Alternatively, you can opt for a self-paid snowmobile trip to West Yellowstone. Snowmobiling is the most convenient way to traverse this snow-covered terrain. Beyond its efficiency, it's also incredibly enjoyable! You'll relish speeding through the snow-covered trees, accessing areas that are otherwise unreachable by foot or vehicle. For $225 per person, you'll be provided with all the essentials to explore West Yellowstone: a snowmobile, appropriate clothing, insurance, and gas.
Finally, we'll return to West Yellowstone and drop you off at your hotel, allowing you time to rest and prepare for the next day's journey.
