Mount Kailash, revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers, is considered the sacred home of gods and the center of the universe. The transformative Kailash Mansarovar Yatra takes pilgrims on an enlightening journey to this sacred mountain and the revered Lake Manasarovar. This spiritual odyssey lasts about 16 days, beginning in Kathmandu, Nepal, and continuing to Tibet, where the first few days are spent acclimatizing to the high altitude. Once prepared, pilgrims embark on a challenging trek of around four days to reach Mount Kailash.

Kailash Mansarovar Trip Introduction:

Arriving at the sacred mountain, pilgrims engage in a sacred ritual of circumambulating it three times, believed to purify both body and mind. Schedule Details

Day 01: Arrival in Nepal, Passport Collection

Upon arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu, our representative will warmly welcome you. They will assist you in collecting your original passport, filling out the Embassy form, and obtaining the necessary photograph for your Tibetan visa application (white background, clearly showing both ears, no glasses). Afterward, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay. 

 

Day 02: Finalize Tibetan Visa, Breakfast in Hotel, Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour, Overnight in Kathmandu.

On the second day, we will focus on finalizing your Tibetan visa. You will have breakfast at the hotel, and then we will go ahead with the necessary preparations. While waiting for the visa processing (which requires 4 working days), we will make the most of the day by exploring the cultural and historical highlights of Kathmandu. The sightseeing tour will take you to prominent Hindu and Buddhist temples and the oldest and grandest palace in the valley. After a full day of sightseeing, you will return to the hotel overnight. 

Day 03: Prepare Tibetan Visa/Biometric at Visa Section, Free Day and Overnight in Kathmandu

In the third day, we will continue with the preparations for your Tibetan visa application. You will have breakfast at the hotel, and we will proceed with the necessary formalities. While the visa is being processed, we will continue the Kathmandu sightseeing tour, visiting other significant landmarks and cultural sites in the valley. After another enriching day of exploration, you will return to the hotel overnight.

Day 04: Visa Preparation Day, Sightseeing, Overnight in Kathmandu.

This is the day dedicated to visa preparations. You will have breakfast at the hotel, and the rest of the day will be free for you to relax or explore Kathmandu at your own pace. You may choose to indulge in yoga or take a short hike to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding the city. Alternatively, you can opt for additional sightseeing to visit places you might have missed earlier. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 05: Passport Submit to Embassy, Receive Tibetan Visa, Day on Your Own, Tour Meeting in the Evening, Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we will proceed to the embassy to submit your passport for the final stage of your Tibetan visa application. While waiting for the visa collection around 2 PM, the day will be yours to spend as you wish. You can utilize this time for any lastminute preparations for the journey or purchase any necessary equipment for the trip. In the evening, there will be a tour meeting to discuss the itinerary and other essential details. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 06: Drive to Nepal-Tibet Border, 7-Hour Drive, Transfer to Tibetan Guide, Overnight in Kerong (First Tibetan Town) (Private Jeep)

An early morning departure will take us on a scenic drive to the Nepal-Tibet border. During the drive, you will enjoy the stunning landscapes and picturesque Himalayan views. A Nepali guide will accompany you until the immigration checkpoint. Once you cross the border into Tibet, you will meet your Tibetan guide and continue the journey with Tibetan transportation. The day's destination is Kerong, the first Tibetan town on your route. Overnight stay in Kerong

Day 07: Rest Day for Acclimatization in Kerong, Breakfast in Hotel, Hike with Tibetan Guide, Overnight in Kerong.

This day is set aside for acclimatization to the high altitude. You will have breakfast at the hotel and spend the day hiking in the beautiful surroundings with your Tibetan guide. Acclimatization is crucial to prepare your body for further ascents in higher altitudes. Overnight stay in Kerong. 

Day 08: Drive to Saga Town, 6-Hour Drive, Breakfast in Hotel, Overnight in Saga (Altitude 4,450m).

The drive offers stunning views of the Tibetan plateau, high passes, and the scenic Himalayas. As we cross the Brahmaputra River, we will reach Saga, where we will spend the night. Overnight stay in Saga at an altitude of 4,450 meters. 

Day 09: Drive to Lake Mansarovar, 9-Hour Drive, Breakfast in Hotel, Overnight in Mansarovar (Altitude 4,580m).

Today, we embark on a scenic drive to Lake Mansarovar, another significant pilgrimage site. The drive will take around 9 hours, during which you will enjoy the beauty of the Tibetan plateau, the majestic lakes, and the views of the Himalayas. As we reach an altitude of 4,580 meters, we will stay overnight near Lake Mansarovar. Remember to stay hydrated and eat properly to manage the high-altitude sickness that may occur.

Day 10: Morning at Lake Mansarovar, Option to Visit Chui Gompa, Drive to Darchen, Overnight in Darchen (Base Camp of Mount Kailash, Altitude 4,575m).

In the morning, you will have a chance to enjoy the serene view of Mount Kailash's south face from Lake Mansarovar. You can also take a spiritual bath or perform any rituals by the lake. After breakfast, we will drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash. The preparations for the Kailash Parikrama (Kailash Kora) will take three days, and we will stay overnight in Darchen at an altitude of 4,575 meters.

Day 11: Start Kailash Parikrama, Reach Derapuk, 7-Hour Walk, Breakfast in Hotel, Overnight in Derapuk.

Today marks the beginning of the Kailash Parikrama. After an early breakfast, we will leave our main luggage in Darchen and begin the journey with only our handbag containing essential items. The walk to Derapuk, a distance of about 20 kilometers, will take around 7 hours. Along the way, you will have breathtaking views of Mount Kailash's north, west, and south faces. Overnight stay in Derapuk.

Day 12: Second Day of Kailash Parikrama, Hardest Day, 9-Hour Walk, Cross Dolma La Pass, Overnight in Juthulpuk (Altitude 4,760m).

Today is the most challenging day of the tour, as we embark on a 9-hour walk. The journey includes crossing the high-altitude Dolma La Pass at 5,645 meters. The route involves uphill climbing for about 3 hours, followed by 2 hours of downhill, and the rest of the way will be relatively flat. You will need to carry enough water and food for the day. We will stay overnight in Juthulpuk at an altitude of 4,760 meters, where only group-sharing mud houses are available.

Day 13: End of Kailash Parikrama, Walk to Darchen, Drive Back to Saga, Overnight in Saga.

After a simple breakfast in Juthulpuk, we will start the last part of the Kailash Parikrama. The walk will be relatively easy and flat, taking around 3 hours. Once we reach Darchen, our vehicle will be waiting, and we will drive back to Saga town. Tonight, we will stay in much more comfortable hotel accommodation in Saga.

Day 14: Drive Back to Kerung, Breakfast in Hotel, and Overnight in Kerung (The last Tibetan Town Bordering Nepal).

After breakfast, we will drive back to Kerung, the last Tibetan town bordering Nepal. The drive will take you through the same scenic landscapes, offering you the chance to enjoy the picturesque beauty of the region one last time.

Day 15: Drive Back to Nepal Immigration, Drive to Kathmandu, Breakfast in Hotel, Overnight in Kathmandu. (Private Jeep)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to the Nepal-Tibet immigration for customs formalities with the help of our guides. After bidding farewell to your Tibetan guide, we will drive back to Kathmandu, accompanied by a Nepali guide.

Day 16: Departure Day, Breakfast in Hotel, Free Time till Departure, Airport Transportation, End of Tour.

You will be free on the final day of the trip to start any additional adventures or activities you may have reserved with us before your departure flight or drive. You will be taken to the international airport if you are flying back home. End of our services for this trip
