This tour is perfectly made for those who enjoy relaxing boat rides and exploring national parks! Join us as we explore two of Costa Rica’s most stunning national parks, Tortuguero and Cahuita. Navigate Tortuguero’s famous wildlife-filled canals by boat, then dive into the crystal clear Caribbean waters for a snorkeling adventure at Cahuita National Park.

For solo travelers or those preferring their own private room, please note that two single occupancy tickets are required for two guests staying in separate rooms.

Schedule Details

Day 1: Arrival to San José

Today one of our guides will pick you up from your Airport in San José, and transfer you to your hotel where you will be checked in and rest for the rest of the day.

Accommodations: Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, Standard Room

Meals Included: N/A

Day 2: San José - Caño Blanco - Tortuguero

In the morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Caño Blanco, where you will take a shared boat ride to Tortuguero and check into your hotel.

Accommodations: Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, Papi Brown Suite 

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 3: Tortuguero National Park Boat Tour

Today after breakfast, we will explore Tortuguero National Park. Join one of our guides to explore the surrounding flora and fauna. You will also get to experience the Caribbean culture, as there are small communities surrounding the protected area. We will then take you back to your hotel. 

Accommodations: Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, Papi Brown Suite 

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 4: Tortuguero - Caño Blanco - Puerto Viejo

After breakfast, there will be a shared boat transfer to Caño Blanco. There will then be a private transfer to Puerto Viejo.

Day 5: Cahuita National Park Activites

Today we will explore Cahuita National Park, taking a shared boat ride through. Your guide will provide snorkeling equipment and you will have the opportunity to snorkel in the reef. Here there will be the chance to see different species of coral, tropical fish, urchins, sea turtles, and more! After there will be a snack and then start the hike through the national park, where the path will lead to capes over the ocean and tropical forests. There will be the chance of seeing monkeys, anteaters, birds, and tropical plants.

Note: Make sure to bring swimsuits, hiking and water shoes, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

Day 6: Leisure Day in Puerto Viejo

Today there will be free time to relax and explore the area in Puerto Viejo. Take time at the beach or stay and explore what your hotel has to offer.

Day 7: Transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport and Departure

Today we will provide a private transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport and bid you farewell on your journey back home!

Is This a Private or Group Tour?

This tour includes a mix of both. Your airport arrival and departure transfers are private. However, boat transfers and activities such as the Tortuguero National Park boat tour and Cahuita National Park hiking and snorkeling tour are shared with other travelers.

Can the Itinerary Be Customized?

Yes. If you would like to add extra nights of accommodation or additional excursions, we are happy to arrange that for you. Please contact us directly to discuss your preferences and we will put together a custom quote.

Can Two Travelers Book Separate Rooms?

Yes, select the Single Occupancy ticket for every traveler that will require a separate room. Please note the higher price per person than the Double Occupancy Rate.
