Day 1: Salt Lake City – Canyonlands – Dead Horse Point – Arches - Moab

Your adventure will begin around 9 AM when your tour guide picks you up either from Salt Lake City Airport or from a hotel of your choice. If you prefer to start your tour from a location other than Salt Lake City, please inform us, and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Starting from Salt Lake City, we will head southeast until we reach Green River, where we'll take a break for lunch. Afterward, we will continue with the itinerary, visiting the following destinations:

Dead Horse Point: Situated just a few miles from Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park offers a unique viewpoint of the Colorado River, located 2,000 feet below. While driving, your tour guide will share the intriguing story behind the park's name.

Canyonlands: We will explore the Island in the Sky region of Canyonlands National Park, composed of three distinct areas: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. This region, perched high above the Colorado River, provides a breathtaking view deep into the pristine canyons below, offering a glimpse into the area's ancient history.

Moab: Nestled between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Moab is often regarded as the gateway to Utah's remarkable natural landscapes. Your stay in Moab will be just as enjoyable as the parks themselves!

In the afternoon, your tour guide will drive you to Arches National Park. With more than 2,000 arches, Arches National Park boasts the densest concentration of natural sandstone arches in the world! Many world-famous arches, including Landscape Arch, Delicate Arch, and Double Arch, can be seen with only a short hike. Without a doubt, this is one national park you won't want to miss! For guests in the mood for an amazing hike, your guide can lead you to the Delicate Arch trail (3 miles round-trip, moderate difficulty) for stunning views and photo opportunities.

If you decide not to hike to Delicate Arch, we'll return to Moab, Utah, for an adventure of your choice. These activities could include river rafting, horseback riding, additional hiking, a riverboat tour, an off-road 4×4 tour, and more! (Adventures are not included in the tour price.)

We will pause here for dinner and to explore the town before taking you to your hotel.

Day 2 : Moab - Monument Valley - Gooseneck State Park - Four corner - Mesa Verde National Park - Durango

In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Gooseneck State Park, which offers stunning views of a river that has carved deep into the landscape, creating a canyon full of tight turns that are sure to surprise you. Along the way, we'll have lunch in Teec Nos Pos, just outside of the Four Corners Monument. You'll also have the opportunity to see Mexican Hat, an incredible sombrero-shaped rock.

From Gooseneck State Park, we'll continue our journey toward Monument Valley. Comprising vast buttes that tower over 1,000 feet in the sky, Monument Valley is the perfect place to stretch your legs after a long car ride and capture some photographs. These buttes have appeared in many movies, the most famous being the running scene in Forrest Gump.

Ever wanted to stand in four states at once? Join us at Four Corners and live out your dream! Just two and a half hours away from Moab, you can relax in the car after a day of hiking and adventure as your guide drives you to check off your next bucket-list item. This is also a great place to purchase locally-made Native American jewelry and other souvenirs to take home.

After visiting Four Corners, we will head to Mesa Verde National Park, your gateway to exploring the ancient world of the Ancestral Pueblo people. I'm excited to take you through this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where over 600 cliff dwellings whisper stories of a civilization that flourished here for more than 700 years.

Our journey kicks off at the Visitor and Research Center, offering a glimpse into the lives of the people who meticulously built homes within these cliffs. As we navigate through the park, marvel at architectural wonders like the Cliff Palace, Balcony House, and Long House, showcasing the ingenuity of the Ancestral Puebloans.

Beyond the dwellings, Mesa Verde's landscapes offer stunning vistas and a home to diverse wildlife. From the high desert plateaus to the lush canyon bottoms, the natural beauty complements the historical richness of this place.

Meteor Crater is a 550-feet deep, 1-mile wide hole that resulted from the impact of a meteorite over 50,000 years ago. Wave Valley is the ultimate dreamland for photographers and travelers. To protect the landscape environment, only 20 people can visit each day. We'll also take you to Coyote Butte and White Pocket, which are adjacent to the Wave Valley. Suitable all-terrain hiking shoes are crucial for trekking in the valley, even though the hike is a bit challenging. The incredible experience upon reaching the site is unforgettable.

This billion-year-old wavy valley is situated on the banks of the Paria River, bordering Arizona in southern Utah. The rocky layers of the valley consist of massive sand dunes that began depositing during the Jurassic period.

F.A.Q

4 Things need to pay attentation before you join the tour.
  1. Bring enough drinking water. Typically, drinking water and food can be purchased at the visitor centers of each park, but there are usually no stores along the hiking trails or roads, so bringing enough drinking water supply is very important. Although Zion and Bryce National Parks are at high elevations, it can still be warm in the summer, while the canyons and arches in the National Parks can be very hot during the summer days, reaching temperatures as high as 38 degrees Celsius. It's also a good idea to bring some simple food or snacks that can provide quick energy or sugar to prevent symptoms such as low blood sugar, heat stroke, or fatigue.
  2. Wear comfortable shoes. The itinerary involves hiking, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes or specialized hiking shoes because the sandstone surfaces here can be very slippery. Being prepared is the key to having a more enjoyable trip.
  3. Be prepared for all kinds of weather. The various national parks in Utah have their own unique climates and weather, which means that the weather here is very difficult to predict. Prepare clothing that can be put on or taken off as needed, or bring raincoats or other waterproof and windproof outerwear, which can be found in professional outdoor stores.
  4. Pay attention to sun protection. It is very important to prepare sunscreen because sunburn can not only cause skin damage but also make tourists suffer from heat stroke or dehydration, and even threaten their lives. It's best to wear a hat or choose routes that have less exposure to the sun when necessary.
