Schedule Details

Day 1: Salt Lake City - USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum - Canyonlands - Dead Horse Point - Moab

Your adventure will begin around 9 AM when your tour guide picks you up, either from the Salt Lake City Airport or from a hotel of your choosing. If you'd like to start your tour from an area other than Salt Lake City, please let us know, and we'll make arrangements.

Starting from Salt Lake City, we will drive southeast until we reach the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum in Price, Utah. At the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum, you can discover what life was like thousands to millions of years ago in Southern Utah. This museum contains over 700,000 archaeological artifacts, ranging from complete sets of dinosaur bones to pictographs left by the Fremont people more than 2,000 years ago. No matter your interests, you are bound to find something you enjoy.

After exploring the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum, we will have a quick lunch and then depart for Dead Horse Point State Park. Located only a few miles from Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park offers a unique view of the Colorado River, 2,000 feet below. While driving around, your tour guide will share the interesting story of how this park got its name.

Next, we will drive over to the adjacent Canyonlands National Park. This park is made up of three distinct regions: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. Today, we will be touring the Island in the Sky region, which is situated far above the Colorado River, on top of the Colorado Plateau. From this vantage point, we will gaze deep into the virtually untouched canyons below, giving us a glimpse into what life was like thousands of years ago.

Following our visit to Canyonlands National Park, we'll travel to Moab, Utah, for dinner and to explore the town. Positioned between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Moab is seen as the gateway to many of Utah's greatest natural landscapes. This popular town has it all: river rafting, hiking, rock climbing, helicopter tours, horseback riding, and even skydiving! Your stay here will be just as enjoyable as the parks themselves.

Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel in Moab, allowing you to relax before the next day's adventure.

Accommodations:

Best Western, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Archway Inn, or a similar quality hotel.

Meal arrangements:

  • Breakfast: Not included
  • Lunch: Not included
  • Dinner: Not included
Day 2: Arches - Adventure in Moab - Bluff

In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Arches National Park. With more than 2,000 arches, Arches National Park boasts the densest concentration of natural sandstone arches in the world! Many world-famous arches, including Landscape Arch, Delicate Arch, and Double Arch, can be easily admired with just a short hike. Undoubtedly, this is a national park you won't want to miss!

Afterward, we’ll return to Moab, Utah, for an adventure of your choice. These adventures could include river rafting, horseback riding, additional hiking, a riverboat tour, an off-road 4×4 tour, and more! These activities will keep us engaged until dinnertime, which we’ll enjoy in town.

Our last destination for the day is Potash Road. Located just outside of Moab, Potash Road winds along the Colorado River, with water on one side and a massive rock cliff on the other. Although the road itself is scenic, the main attractions are found alongside it. Your tour guides will introduce you to ancient petroglyphs, dinosaur tracks, and additional arches that can be accessed on foot.

Finally, we’ll drop you off at your hotel in Bluff, allowing you to relax before the next day’s adventure.

Accommodations:

Bluff Dwellings Resort & Spa, Desert Rose Resort, Bluff Gardens, or a similar quality hotel.

Meal arrangements:

  • Breakfast: Included
  • Lunch: Included (Picnic Lunch)
  • Dinner: Not included
Day 3: Bluff - Four Corners Monument - Monument Valley - Gooseneck - Hanksville

In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Four Corners Monument. The Four Corners Monument is the only place in America where four states converge: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. Since the monument is situated within the Navajo Nation, it's also an excellent opportunity to purchase locally made Native American jewelry and other souvenirs to bring home.

Next, we'll depart for Gooseneck State Park, which offers stunning views of a river that has carved deep into the landscape, creating a canyon full of tight turns that are sure to surprise you. Along the way, we'll have lunch in Teec Nos Pos, just outside of the Four Corners Monument. You'll also get to see Mexican Hat, an incredible sombrero-shaped rock formation.

From Gooseneck State Park, we'll continue on to Monument Valley. Comprising vast buttes that soar over 1,000 feet into the sky, Monument Valley is the perfect place to stretch your legs after the long car ride and capture some breathtaking photographs. These iconic buttes have appeared in numerous movies, most notably the running scene in Forrest Gump.

For the final leg of today’s journey, we'll drive toward Flagstaff, Arizona, which is renowned for its delectable food. While there, we'll have dinner and then drop you off at your hotel in Hanksville, allowing you to unwind before the next day’s adventure.

Accommodations:

Comfortable hotels and/or rustic lodges in Hanksville.

Meal arrangement:

  • Breakfast: Included
  • Lunch: Not included
  • Dinner: Not included
Day 4: Hanksville - Goblin Valley - Capitol Reef - Antimony

In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Goblin Valley State Park. The "goblins" in Goblin Valley derive their name from the thousands of unique hoodoos, or columns of weathered stone, that adorn the landscape of this captivating park. Within this State Park, there are no designated paths, allowing you to walk right up to the hoodoos and capture stunning photographs. If time allows, your tour guide will lead you on a hike to Goblins Lair, an incredibly tall cave that must be seen to be believed!

Following Goblin Valley State Park, we’ll head for Capitol Reef National Park, passing through the scenic San Rafael Swell. Capitol Reef National Park holds a rich history and boasts unique geology. Over 1,000 years ago, the Fremont people inhabited this region, leaving behind pictographs on the cliffs that remain visible to this day. We'll also explore the remnants of Fruita, a small town established in the 1880s.

Our final stop for the day will be Antimony, the home of the famous Rockin’ R Ranch. This old Western-style ranch offers exceptional cuisine and an all-inclusive experience, including horseback riding, archery, campfires, and more! Your tour guide will leave you here for the night, providing you with the chance to unwind before the next day’s adventure.

Accommodations:

Capitol Reef Resort or a similar quality hotel.

In the morning, your tour guide will come pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Bryce Canyon National Park. From its beautiful pink and white cliffs to its thousands of hoodoos, Bryce Canyon National Park is sure to leave a powerful impression with you. This park features many incredible viewpoints that are easily accessible and provide excellent locations to take photographs. For the more adventurous, your tour guide will take you down into the canyon along the Navajo-Queen’s Garden Trail, passing right next to incredible rock formations that have taken thousands of years to shape.

Following Bryce Canyon National Park, we’ll drive south along highway 89 towards Zion National Park. Zion National Park will surely take your breath away as you drive through gorgeous wind-sculpted canyons and hike along incredible trails. This park has something for everyone: for those who want to remain in the car, you will love the intricate patterns found on Checkerboard Mesa and Weeping Rock. For those who want to do a little hiking, you will enjoy the stunning views from the Canyon Overlook Trail and the Riverside Walk. For those who are experienced hikers, you will appreciate the thrill of hiking along the Narrows and Angel’s Landing.

At the end of the day, we’ll depart for Kanab, Utah. This region, located in the Southwest corner of Utah, has both a beautiful landscape and a rich history. Due to its spectacular red sandstone cliffs and unique plants, Kanab has been used as the set of many famous Hollywood shows and movies, including the Lone Ranger, Planet of the Apes, and Arabian Nights. While in Kanab, you will see the alluring Pink Coral Sand Dunes, the impressive Moqui Sand Caves, and other amazing historical sights!

Day 6: Kanab - Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument Adventures (Wave Valley, Coyote Buttes, White Pocket) - Kanab

In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Coyote Butte for three amazing hikes: the Toadstools, White Pocket, and Wave Valley.

Wave Valley is the ultimate dreamland for photographers and travelers. To protect the landscape environment, only 20 people can visit each day. We'll also take you to Coyote Butte and White Pocket, which are adjacent to the Wave Valley. Suitable all-terrain hiking shoes are crucial for trekking in the valley, even though the hike is a bit challenging. The incredible experience upon reaching the site is unforgettable.

This billion-year-old wavy valley is situated on the banks of the Paria River, bordering Arizona in southern Utah. The rocky layers of the valley consist of massive sand dunes that began depositing during the Jurassic period.

If you didn't win the Wave or Coyote Butte lottery, don't worry. You're already fortunate to be amidst numerous natural wonders, including Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Glen Canyon Dam, and Lake Powell. We'll explore Antelope Canyon with a knowledgeable Navajo guide, allowing you to delve into this remarkable region renowned for its picture-perfect landscapes. In fact, this area in Antelope Canyon ranks among the top ten photography locations globally! The visit will last around 2 hours, with admission included.

After the hike, we'll head to Page, Arizona, for a quick meal at a local eatery. While in Southern Utah, there's no better way to experience the American Southwest than from the air! You'll have the opportunity to embark on an amazing flightseeing adventure, offering breathtaking bird's-eye views of some of the country's most stunning scenery! The itinerary includes destinations like Lake Powell, Rainbow Bridge, Horseshoe Bend, and Reflection Canyon seen from the sky. This one-hour trip in a Cessna airplane is included in the tour and presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

In the evening, we will return to Kanab, located in the southwestern corner of Utah. This area boasts both a stunning landscape and a rich history. Thanks to its striking red sandstone cliffs and unique flora, Kanab has served as a backdrop for numerous famous Hollywood shows and movies, including the Lone Ranger, Planet of the Apes, and Arabian Nights. During your time in Kanab, you'll witness the captivating Pink Coral Sand Dunes, impressive Moqui Sand Caves, and, if time permits, the magnificent Toadstools and Horseshoe Bend.

Day 7: Kanab - Moqui Cave and Sand Caves Museum - Coral Pink Sand Dunes - Mystic Hot Springs - Salt Lake City

In the morning, your tour guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park for a quick yet beautiful hike. The park showcases uniquely pink-hued sand dunes situated beside red sandstone cliffs.

After the hike, we’ll have a quick lunch and then proceed to Mystic Hot Springs. These springs provide the perfect opportunity to unwind and reflect after several days of adventures. The mineral-rich waters not only promote healthy skin but also aid in relaxation and stress relief.

If you choose not to soak in the natural hot spring, your tour guide will take you to Kanarraville Falls for a quick yet beautiful hike.

Following the hot springs, we’ll drive back towards Salt Lake City. Settled in 1847 by a group of pioneers, Salt Lake City has evolved into the vibrant capital of Utah and a gateway to the West. NOTICE:
  1. At least 2 people are required to schedule a tour. If you are traveling alone, please consult our customer service department, and they will assist you in joining another group. Booking early is highly recommended, as availability will be limited.
  2. Please note that this itinerary serves as a sample. Due to factors such as flight arrival times, road and weather conditions, and our intention to tailor the tour to your abilities and interests, the order and locations of proposed events are subject to change. Your guide will provide daily updates. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a safe adventure, creates cherished memories, and enjoys an unforgettable experience!
  3. The Wave Valley is a small and remote area. Upon reaching the Wave Valley, you'll need to traverse a trail that's approximately 10.2 kilometers (6.3 miles) long. This area is recommended for experienced hikers, as the terrain consists mostly of smooth rock and sand, requiring skilled navigation. Due to its remoteness, cellular signal is limited in this location. The landforms here have been shaped over millions of years of erosion. The intricate layers of rock comprise immense sand dunes that began forming during the Jurassic period, 150 million years ago. Back then, these dunes resembled a vast desert, continuously covered by red sand saturated with groundwater. Over time, minerals in the water precipitated, compacting the sand into sandstone and forming a layered structure. This ancient sand dune eventually gave rise to a type of sandstone known as "Navajo sandstone." The erosion process has sculpted a mesmerizing three-dimensional effect, featuring sandstone swirls adorned with a variety of unique colors. These rare natural formations attract visitors from around the globe. These captivating landscapes are truly some of Earth's greatest treasures, and their preservation should be of utmost importance.

F.A.Q

4 Things need to pay attentation before you join the tour.
  1. Bring enough drinking water. Typically, drinking water and food can be purchased at the visitor centers of each park, but there are usually no stores along the hiking trails or roads, so bringing enough drinking water supply is very important. Although Zion and Bryce National Parks are at high elevations, it can still be warm in the summer, while the canyons and arches in the National Parks can be very hot during the summer days, reaching temperatures as high as 38 degrees Celsius. It's also a good idea to bring some simple food or snacks that can provide quick energy or sugar to prevent symptoms such as low blood sugar, heat stroke, or fatigue.
  2. Wear comfortable shoes. The itinerary involves hiking, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes or specialized hiking shoes because the sandstone surfaces here can be very slippery. Being prepared is the key to having a more enjoyable trip.
  3. Be prepared for all kinds of weather. The various national parks in Utah have their own unique climates and weather, which means that the weather here is very difficult to predict. Prepare clothing that can be put on or taken off as needed, or bring raincoats or other waterproof and windproof outerwear, which can be found in professional outdoor stores.
  4. Pay attention to sun protection. It is very important to prepare sunscreen because sunburn can not only cause skin damage but also make tourists suffer from heat stroke or dehydration, and even threaten their lives. It's best to wear a hat or choose routes that have less exposure to the sun when necessary.
