DAY 1: Salt Lake City, USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point, Moab
Your adventure will begin around 9 AM when your tour guide picks you up either from the Salt Lake City Airport or from a hotel of your choosing. If you’d like to start your tour from an area other than Salt Lake City, please let us know and we’ll make arrangements.
From Salt Lake City, we will drive southeast until we reach the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum in Price, Utah. At the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum, you can discover what life was like thousands to millions of years ago in Southern Utah. This museum contains over 700,000 archaeological artifacts, ranging from complete sets of dinosaur bones to pictographs left by the Fremont people more than 2,000 years ago. No matter your interests, you are bound to find something you enjoy.
After exploring the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum, we will eat a quick lunch and depart for Dead Horse Point State Park. Located only a few miles from Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park offers a unique view of the Colorado River 2,000 feet below. While driving around, your tour guide will tell you the interesting story of how this park got its name.
Next, we will drive over to the adjacent Canyonlands National Park. This park is made up of three distinct regions: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. Today, we will be touring the Island in the Sky region which is situated far above the Colorado River, on top of the Colorado Plateau. From this vantage point, we will see deep into the virtually untouched untouched canyons below, giving us a glimpse into what life was like thousands of years ago.
Following Canyonlands National Park, we’ll travel to Moab, Utah to eat dinner and explore the town. Located between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Moab is seen as the gateway to many of Utah’s greatest natural landscapes. This popular town has it all: river rafting, hiking, rock climbing, helicopter tours, horseback riding, and even skydiving! You’ll love your stay here just as much as the parks themselves!
Finally, we’ll drop you off at your hotel in Moab, letting you relax before the next day’s adventure.

DAY 2: Arches, Adventure in Moab, Bluff
In the morning, your tour guide will come pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Arches National Park. At more than 2,000 arches, Arches National Park has the densest concentration of natural sandstone arches in the world! With only a short hike, many world famous arches can be seen in all their glory, including landscape arch, delicate arch, and double arch. Without a doubt, this is one national park you do not want to miss!
Afterwards, we’ll return back to Moab, Utah for an adventure of your choice. These adventures could include river rafting, horseback riding, additional hiking, a riverboat tour, an off-road 4x4 tour, or more! These adventures will take us all the way until dinner time, which we’ll eat in town.
The last destination we’ll visit today is Potash road. Found right outside of Moab, Potash road winds along the Colorado river with water on one side, and a huge rock cliff on the other. This road, although beautiful, is not the main attraction however. Along this road, your tour guides will show you ancient petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks, as well as additional arches that can be accessed by foot.

DAY 3: Bluff, Four Corners Monument, Monument Valley, Gooseneck, Flagstaff
In the morning, your tour guide will come pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Four Corners Monument. Four Corners Monument is the only place in America where four states converge: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. Since the monument is found within the Navajo Nation, this is also a great place to buy locally made Native American jewelry and other souvenirs to bring home.
Next, we’ll depart for Gooseneck State Park which offers stunning views of a river that has cut deep into the landscape, creating a canyon full of tight turns that is sure to surprise you. Along the way we’ll have lunch in Teec Nos Pos, right outside of Four Corners Monument. You’ll also be able to see Mexican Hat, an incredible sombrero-shaped rock.
From Gooseneck State Park, we’ll advance towards Monument Valley. Composed of vast buttes that tower over 1,000 feet in the sky, Monument Valley is the perfect place to stretch your legs from the long car ride and take some pictures. DAY 4: Flagstaff, Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Sedona, Flagstaff
In the morning, your tour guide will come pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Petrified Forest National Park. This park is known for its large deposits of petrified wood. Petrified wood is made when a tree is buried by sediment, protecting it from organisms that could cause it to decay. Over time, minerals in the groundwater replace the wood, turning it into stone.
Following Petrified Forest National Park, we’ll eat a quick lunch and then depart for Meteor Crater. Meteor Crater is a 550 feet deep, 1 mile wide hole that was created from the impact of a meteorite that occurred more than 50,000 years ago. While looking out over the crater from the rim, you’ll be able to imagine the scale of this impact and its effects on the local landscape.
Next, we’ll drive south towards Sedona, Arizona. Nestled amongst towering red cliffs, Sedona is the perfect place to relax and see the sunset. We’ll start by exploring the local landscape and hiking some of the beautiful trails outside of Sedona. Afterwards, we’ll return into Sedona and check out some of the beautiful architecture that the town has to offer, such as the Chapel of the Holy Cross, built into the surrounding rock itself. As the sun sets, we’ll eat dinner at one of the incredible eateries in town, reminiscing about what a perfect day it has been.
Finally, we’ll depart for Flagstaff, Arizona where we’ll drop you off at your hotel in Moab, letting you relax before the next day’s adventure.

DAY 7: Terry, Capitol Reef, Goblin Valley, Salt Lake City
In the morning, your tour guide will come pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Capitol Reef National Park. Capitol Reef National Park has a rich history and a unique geology. Over 1,000 years ago, the Fremont people lived in this region, making pictographs on the cliffs that can still be seen to this day. We’ll also explore the remnants of Fruita, a small town established in the 1880s.
Thereafter, we’ll depart for Goblin Valley, driving along the San Rafael Swell. The “goblins” in Goblin Valley get their name from the thousands of unique hoodoos, or columns of weathered stone, that dot the surface of this exciting park. If time permits, your tour guide will take you on a hike to Goblins Lair, an incredibly tall cave that must be seen to believe!
