Our small-group tours are limited to 2–8 travelers, allowing for more personal attention, a relaxed pace, and a more tailored travel experience. Arches National Park is one of the top national parks in America: a 76,679-acre wonderland of eroded sandstone fins, towers, ribs, hoodoos, balanced rocks, and, of course, more than 2,000 natural arches just north of Moab.
An alpine forest with as many red rock hoodoos as trees. At dawn and dusk, mule deer graze the forested plateau along the road into Bryce Canyon.
Canyonlands is home to many different types of travel experiences, from sublime solitude in the more remote stretches of the park to moderate hikes through the Needles district to the opportunity to create your own version of one of the West's most photographed landforms, Mesa Arch.
Even considering Utah’s many impressive national parks and monuments, it is difficult to rival Capitol Reef National Park’s sense of expansiveness, of broad, sweeping vistas, of a tortured, twisted, seemingly endless landscape, or of limitless sky and desert rock.
Whether you are trying to catch your breath while climbing the trail to Angel's Landing or watching the shadows constantly change the mood of the Court of the Patriarchs, Zion National Park is always ready to quench your appetite for outdoor wonder.
Your adventure begins around 9 AM when your tour guide picks you up either from Salt Lake City Airport or from a hotel of your choice. If you prefer to start your tour from a location other than Salt Lake City, please let us know and we'll make arrangements.
Starting from Salt Lake City, we'll head southeast toward Green River, where we'll stop for lunch. If time and route conditions allow, your guide may also stop in Price, Utah, to visit the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum, an accredited museum with one of the country's largest paleontology and archaeology collections. It's an optional stop and a great way to set the geological context for the parks ahead.
Dead Horse Point State Park: Just a few miles from Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point offers a stunning viewpoint of the Colorado River 2,000 feet below. Your guide will share the intriguing story behind the park's name.
Canyonlands National Park: We'll explore the Island in the Sky region, one of the park's three distinct districts (along with the Needles and the Maze). Perched high above the Colorado River, this area provides breathtaking views deep into pristine canyons, offering a glimpse into the area's ancient geology.
Moab: Nestled between Arches and Canyonlands, Moab is the gateway to Utah's most remarkable natural landscapes. We'll pause here for dinner and to explore the town before taking you to your hotel.
Accommodations: Best Western, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Archway Inn, or a similar quality hotel.
Meal arrangement:
In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Arches National Park. With more than 2,000 arches, the park boasts the densest concentration of natural sandstone arches in the world. Famous formations like Landscape Arch, Delicate Arch, and Double Arch are visible with only a short hike.
For guests in the mood for an extended hike, your guide can lead you on the Delicate Arch trail (3 miles round-trip, moderate difficulty) for stunning views and photo opportunities.
If you decide not to hike to Delicate Arch, we'll return to Moab for an adventure of your choice. Options include river rafting, horseback riding, additional hiking, a riverboat tour, an off-road 4×4 tour, and more. (Adventures are at your own expense and can be arranged through your guide.)
Ever wanted to stand in four states at once? At Four Corners Monument, you can! About two and a half hours from Moab, it's the only place in America where four states meet: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. Located within the Navajo Nation, it's also a great place to purchase locally-made Native American jewelry and souvenirs.
After visiting Four Corners, we'll head to Bluff, Utah, for dinner and drop you off at your hotel for the night.
Accommodation options: Bluff Dwellings Resort & Spa, Desert Rose Resort, Bluff Gardens, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
Meal arrangements:
In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Goosenecks State Park, which offers stunning views of the San Juan River where it has carved deep into the landscape, creating a canyon full of tight meandering turns.
Along the way, we'll have lunch in Teec Nos Pos, just outside the Four Corners area. You'll also have the opportunity to see Mexican Hat, an incredible sombrero-shaped rock formation.
From Goosenecks, we'll continue toward Monument Valley. Comprising vast buttes that rise up to 1,000 feet above the valley floor, Monument Valley is the perfect place to stretch your legs and capture some photographs. These buttes have appeared in many movies, most famously in the running scene in Forrest Gump.
After our scenic drive, we'll make a stop in Page, Arizona, where you can choose your own adventure. Options like a scenic plane ride, horseback riding, river rafting, or speed boating are available in the area. (Adventures are at your own expense and can be arranged through your guide.)
Following your adventure, we'll help you find a place for dinner in Page before dropping you off at your hotel.
Accommodation options: Holiday Inn Express, Weatherford Hotel, or a similarly high-quality hotel.
Meal arrangements:
Day 4 will be just as packed with adventure as the previous days. On this day, we'll visit:
Horseshoe Bend: A dramatic U-shaped meander of the Colorado River located just outside Page, Arizona. A short 0.6-mile hike from the parking area leads to an overlook with a roughly 1,000-foot drop down to the river, one of the most photographed views in the American Southwest.
Antelope Canyon: A breathtaking slot canyon on Navajo land near Page. Your Navajo guide will lead you through the canyon's winding, sculpted sandstone walls, helping you capture some unforgettable photos.
Zion National Park: Zion offers gorgeous wind-sculpted canyons and incredible trails. The park has something for everyone. Those who prefer to stay in the vehicle will love the intricate patterns on Checkerboard Mesa and the views at Weeping Rock. Amateur hikers will enjoy the Canyon Overlook Trail and the Riverside Walk. For experienced hikers, the Narrows offers a more challenging adventure wading through the Virgin River canyon.
After our exploration of Zion, we'll stop in Mt. Carmel for dinner before heading toward Bryce Canyon, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel.
Accommodation: Holiday Inn Express or a similarly high-quality hotel.
Meal arrangements:
Get ready for another exciting day. On Day 5, we'll visit:
Bryce Canyon National Park: From its beautiful pink and white cliffs to its thousands of hoodoos, Bryce Canyon is sure to leave a powerful impression. The park features many easily accessible viewpoints that provide excellent locations for photography.
For the more adventurous, your tour guide can take you down into the canyon along the Navajo-Queen's Garden Trail, passing through breathtaking rock formations that took millions of years to shape.
Capitol Reef National Park: On the way to Capitol Reef, we'll drive along Scenic Byway 12, recognized as one of America's most beautiful highways, winding through southern Utah's high desert and forested plateau country.
Capitol Reef itself offers spectacular views, slot canyons, petroglyphs, and orchards from the historic Fruita settlement. You will not regret visiting.
Before dropping you off to relax at your hotel for the night, we'll stop in Torrey, Utah, for dinner.
Accommodation: Holiday Inn Express or a similarly high-quality hotel.
Meal arrangements:
On your last day, we'll take you back to Salt Lake City, but not before treating you to another amazing state park.
Goblin Valley State Park: The "goblins" of Goblin Valley get their name from the thousands of unique hoodoos, or columns of weathered stone, that dot its surface. There are no official paths in the main valley, so you can walk right up to the hoodoos for stunning photos. If time permits, your guide can lead you on a hike to Goblins Lair, a tall hidden cave.
At the end of our tour, your guide will lead you on a short tour of Salt Lake City if time allows, with stops at Temple Square, the State Capitol, and the Great Salt Lake.
Accommodations: Not included
